Board-Room Media Strategies

Satisfied customer:  Chris Kelly is an excellent and humorous trainer.  Even though I have dealt with the media for years I and my team still learned new tricks and insights to increase the impact of our PR efforts.

inanutshellpng.png Acknowledging the existence of the media and then harnessing its power can be a crucial step forward for any growing organisation.  This workshop introduces the organisation to the possibilities - and the common mistakes to avoid.

There comes a time when all expanding organisations must determine their relationship with the media.  Many otherwise very competent management teams stare blankly when faced with developing a corporate strategy to use the media as part of this need - or they look terrified at the prospect.  Even worse, with the dramatic and significant chnges to the media and the technology now putting all organisation in the position of being part of the media themselves, it's never too soon to devote some senior manahement time to examining the new ways forward.  If I'd mentioned this a few years ago with a new development called 'the internet' many organisations would have labelled it a passing fad - but actually unable to devote a little time to examining just what it was and thepotential it carried for them.  The same is now happening with technological developments across all means of communication.

Chris takes management from the fundamentals of the media and new technology (and the way it is rapidly changing) through the types of media, finally discussing the strengths and weaknesses of that organisation and the way it can best harness the new media and new opportunities which have already arrived or are anticipated in the near future - and determining where the investments must be made.

At the end of the session, the organisation is in a much better position to draw up specific plans and communicate to staff the corporate direction into the future.

It will also help the organisation define the role and duties of a press / communications officer / team if not already recruited.
